With all of the cake decorating reality shows on television, what could be better than to have a Cake Competition right in your own back yard!  This event will bring together all ages of cake decorators from youth to culinary students, from the Beginners to Masters.  You’ll want to stop by and view the absolutely incredible creations of Sugar Art, and learn the secrets of the professionals and how to improve on your own decorating skills.

The Cake and Sugar Arts Competition will display the creations of those who enjoy the sugar arts, as they compete for ribbons and trophies in their own divisions and categories.  The Wedding Cake Competition will display many beautiful creations of Wedding and Groom’s Cakes that share this celebration, all competing for the $1,000 Grand Prize.  Many classes are being offered, where you can learn and master decorating techniques, and keep up-to-date on the latest trends and products.  Demonstrations will also be running throughout the event, where all decorators and the general public may sit in and watch the talents and learn the methods of our very talented instructors.  Our many teachers and demonstrators are visiting us from around the United States and Canada, and will be sharing their knowledge with us all.

Classrooms, vendors and sugar art displays and the Live Challenge will be in close proximity to each other, allowing each participant and attendee to easily access each venue..  Our Vendor Area will also be a big part of the two-day event.  Our vendors will be showcasing the very latest in cake decorating products, tools and supplies.  You will also have the opportunity to meet and talk with authors of books about cake decorating and confectionery arts, and we will have some very special door prizes for our participants.  The entire weekend will culminate with our “Live Cake Challenge”.  Teams will decorate and create an entry to fit our show and event theme, “The Great Outdoors”, all within a 3-1/2 hour time frame and in front of a live audience.

You must pre-register to enter the competitions, and to attend classes, and we encourage early purchase of tickets for our demonstrations and the Live Challenge, as seating is limited (granted on a first come, first paid basis).

This event is also a stepping stone to two other competitions and shows on the East Coast in the months to follow:

National Capital Area Cake Show, Annandale, VA ~ March 24-25, 2012

The Great American Cake Show & Wedding Cake Competition, Westminster, MD , ~ May 5-6, 2012
